Z - "I am not my Ancestors"

Z is a spoken word poet from Baltimore, MD and resides on Oahu, HI. He is the 2019 Hawaii
Grand Slam Champion. Through poetry, Z hopes to promote unity and pride in the black community and beyond.

"I Am Not My Ancestors" is a spoken word piece focused on the similarities and differences between the experiences of African Americans past and present. Z speaks on his appreciation for his ancestors and their struggle to give contemporary African Americans more freedom to stand up against oppression.
